Erasmus Accommodation in Paris

Semester-length Paris stays: matching your exchange calendar, what the rent covers and how to book before you travel.

An exchange term is not a standard tenancy

An Erasmus or exchange semester in Paris begins and ends on dates a university sets, not on dates a landlord would choose. A conventional lease built around a full year treats that as an exception, which is why exchange students so often end up over-paying for something temporary or signing for months they will not be in the country.

Accommodation built for students works the other way round: the stay length belongs to the room. On Jump In the earliest move-in date and availability are recorded per room and shown on its page, and the payment schedule for your exact dates is displayed before you confirm anything.

Match the room to your academic calendar first

Before comparing rooms, write down three dates: the first day you must be in Paris, the last day you need the room, and the earliest date you could realistically arrive. Then check each room against those dates rather than against the photographs.

Where a room is currently taken, the next free period is shown, so you can request it for a later start instead of guessing. That single detail avoids most of the back-and-forth of an exchange housing search.

One rent, no utility contracts to open and close

For a stay of a few months, opening French utility and internet contracts in your own name and closing them again is disproportionate work. All-inclusive rent avoids it entirely: the services listed on your room page are covered by the monthly rent, and the room is furnished and ready on the day you check in.

Living with other international students

The Paris rooms are private rooms inside shared apartments for female students, so an exchange semester starts in a household of students in the same situation rather than in an empty flat. Each apartment's shared spaces and house rules are stated on the room pages belonging to that apartment, so you know what you are joining before you request it.

Booking your Erasmus room remotely

The sequence is designed to be completed from your home country: choose the room and dates, send your request with your student details, wait for the Paris team's review, sign the rental agreement electronically, then pay the first month of rent online with the Booking Service Fee shown separately. The administrative fee and the security deposit are paid at check-in to your City Manager. Approval is never automatic and no room is held before an agreement is issued.

Jump In is the booking platform: it publishes the rooms, reviews requests, prepares the rental agreement and collects the first month of rent online. The accommodation itself is provided by the independent local accommodation provider identified before you pay and named in the agreement you sign.
