Terms & conditions
Jump In Sarl operates an online platform through which students and interns can discover, request and book fully furnished, all-inclusive rooms in shared apartments located in central districts of capital cities. By creating a profile, submitting a booking request or using any part of this website you accept these terms.
Jump In Sarl acts as the platform operator and coordinates the booking journey: publication of rooms, verification of applicants, generation of rental contracts, payment collection through our payment provider and operational support before, during and after your stay. The rental relationship itself is established by the rental contract signed between you and the party identified as landlord or operator in that contract for the relevant city.
You agree to provide accurate, complete and up-to-date information, to use your account personally and not to share your credentials, and to respect the house rules of the apartment you occupy. Each applicant may hold only one active booking request or confirmed booking at a time, and may therefore sign only one rental contract at a time.
Room availability, prices, administrative fees and deposits displayed on the website are indicative until a booking request is approved and the terms are confirmed in writing in your rental contract. Jump In may refuse or withdraw a booking request that does not meet our eligibility or verification requirements, or where the room becomes unavailable.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Jump In is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, for the acts of other residents, or for interruptions of third-party services (utilities, internet, payment providers). Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer under mandatory local law.
These terms are governed by French law, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer and tenancy rules of the country and city where the apartment is located.
Privacy policy
Jump In Sarl is the data controller for the personal data processed through this platform. We can be reached through the contact form on this website for any privacy question or request.
We collect: identity and contact details (name, date of birth, nationality, email, phone), student status and enrolment evidence, identity documents used for verification, emergency and guarantor contact details where required, booking and stay data (room, dates, contract, check-in and check-out records, inventories), messages exchanged with your City Manager, payment metadata received from our payment provider, and technical data such as device, browser and log information.
We process this data to create and manage your account, to assess and verify your eligibility, to prepare, sign and archive rental contracts, to collect payments and deposits, to operate check-in and check-out, to communicate with you about your booking, to comply with legal and accounting obligations, and to keep the platform secure. The legal bases are the performance of a contract, our legitimate interest in operating and securing a safe community, compliance with legal obligations, and your consent where consent is requested (for example non-essential cookies or marketing emails).
Data is shared only with parties who need it: the City Manager and local operator responsible for your apartment, our payment provider, our e-signature and hosting or infrastructure providers, and public authorities where the law requires it. We do not sell personal data.
Retention: account and booking data is kept for the duration of the relationship; contracts, invoices and payment records are kept for the statutory accounting and tenancy retention periods applicable in the relevant country; identity and enrolment documents are kept only as long as needed for verification and for the duration of the stay unless a longer legal retention applies; messages are kept for the duration of the stay plus a limited dispute period. Data may be processed in or transferred to countries outside the European Economic Area only with appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
You are never required to publish sensitive information on the platform. Exact street numbers of the apartments listed on the platform are disclosed only after a booking is confirmed.
Cookie policy
This website currently uses only strictly necessary cookies and browser storage. We do not use analytics, measurement, advertising or marketing cookies, we do not run Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Meta Pixel, heatmaps or any other tracking or profiling technology, and we do not share browsing data with advertising networks. Because no non-essential technology is used, no cookie-consent banner is displayed: there is nothing optional to consent to.
Strictly necessary cookies and storage: an authentication cookie and local storage entry that keep you signed in and secure your session; local and session storage used to remember your booking progress, drafts, notifications and interface preferences so the platform works as expected; and a cookie that remembers whether the dashboard side navigation is expanded. These are required for the website to function and cannot be switched off; they are not used for advertising or profiling.
Third-party services actually used: payments are completed on our payment provider's own hosted, secure payment page, and our e-signature and hosting or infrastructure providers may set strictly necessary cookies to secure those transactions. Where a property location map is displayed, the map is loaded from Google Maps, which may set cookies necessary to serve the map; the map is only loaded on pages where a map is shown. None of these are used by Jump In for analytics or marketing.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but strictly necessary cookies are needed to sign in and complete a booking. If we ever introduce optional analytics or marketing technologies, we will ask for your consent before setting them and update this policy. The same policy applies to all cities in which Jump In operates, including Paris and Barcelona.
Rental conditions
Rooms booked through Jump In are private rooms in shared, fully furnished apartments, let to you on an all-inclusive basis by the local accommodation provider identified in your rental contract: furniture, utilities, internet, and the maintenance of shared areas are included as described on the room page and confirmed in that contract. Jump In provides the online booking service; the accommodation itself is provided by that local accommodation provider.
Rental conditions differ by city. Each city where Jump In operates has its own rental conditions, drafted to comply with the local housing, tenancy, tax and registration regulations applicable there (including rules on contract type, duration, notice, deposits, registration and local taxes). The rental conditions applicable to your stay are those set out in full in the rental contract you sign for that specific room and city, which prevails over any general description on this website.
Common obligations include: use of the room during your studies or internship, no subletting or transfer, respect for the house rules and for the other residents, keeping the room and shared areas clean and undamaged, allowing reasonable access for maintenance and inspections announced in advance, and returning the room in the condition recorded in the check-in inventory.
Check-in and check-out are carried out with your City Manager on the dates stated in your contract, together with a signed inventory of the room and its equipment. Damage or missing items identified at check-out and attributable to you may be charged in accordance with your contract.
Return of the security deposit. The security deposit is paid to your City Manager at check-in and is returned after check-out under the terms of your rental contract, less any amount lawfully retained for unpaid rent or charges, or for damage or missing items recorded at check-out. The return deadline stated in your contract is as follows.
Paris: the security deposit is returned within 30 days after the termination date of the contract, as set out in your Paris rental contract.
Barcelona: the security deposit is returned within a period of 7 days after the departure date, as set out in your Barcelona rental contract.
Cancellation policy
Once your booking request is approved, the room is held for you for 24 hours so that you can pay the first month of rent. If that payment is not received within that period, the hold expires and the room is released to other applicants.
You may cancel your booking within 24 hours after that payment: the first month of rent you actually paid (a full or a half month, depending on your check-in date) is refunded to you, while the Booking Service Fee of 3% + €0.25 charged on that payment is retained and is not refunded. To cancel, use the messaging tool in your dashboard or the contact form so that your cancellation is recorded with a timestamp.
After that 24-hour window, the booking is firm and no refund of the first month of rent is possible. Any later cancellation, non-arrival or early termination is handled under the terms of your rental contract, and the administrative fee and the security deposit remain due as stated there.
If Jump In cancels a confirmed booking for a reason attributable to us (for example the room becomes unavailable), you receive a full refund of all amounts collected, or an alternative room where one is available.
Payment terms
All payments are collected through Jump In's regulated payment provider. Card and bank details are handled by that provider and are never stored by Jump In Sarl.
The payment sequence is: (1) the first month of rent, paid online through the platform to confirm your booking within the 24-hour hold; (2) the administrative fee and the security deposit, paid to your City Manager at check-in; (3) the following monthly rent instalments, collected by your City Manager.
Rent is invoiced monthly in advance and charged on the 25th of each month. Where a stay starts or ends mid-month, the first and last instalments are prorated according to Jump In's proration rules as stated in your final review and in your contract.
Late payment: if a charge fails, we will notify you and retry the payment. Persistent non-payment may lead to reminder fees, statutory late-payment interest and termination of the contract as set out in the rental contract and applicable local law.
Invoices and payment history are available in your dashboard. Currency, taxes and any local charges are shown before you confirm each payment.
Electronic signature consent
This section applies where a document is signed electronically on this platform. In Paris the rental contract is signed electronically after payment and booking confirmation, before check-in. In Barcelona, the City Manager handles the rental contract and inventory offline on paper; this electronic-signature consent does not apply to those documents.
Where electronic signature is used, by signing your rental contract, inventory or check-in and check-out records electronically on this platform you consent to contracting by electronic means and agree that your electronic signature has the same legal value as a handwritten signature, in accordance with Regulation (EU) No 910/2014 (eIDAS) and applicable national law.
Each electronic signature is recorded with the signatory's name, email, timestamp and a document fingerprint that allows the integrity of the signed version to be verified. Both parties receive access to the executed document, which remains available in your dashboard.
Where electronic signature is used you may request a paper alternative before signing by contacting us. Withdrawing consent to electronic signature after signature does not affect the validity of documents already signed.
GDPR & data requests
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom you have the right to access your personal data, to have inaccurate data corrected, to request erasure, to restrict or object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
To exercise a right, send your request through the contact form on this website from the email address linked to your profile. We may ask for additional information to confirm your identity, and we respond within one month, extendable by two further months for complex requests.
Some data cannot be deleted immediately: contracts, invoices and payment records must be retained for the statutory periods that apply to tenancy and accounting records.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your national supervisory authority; in France this is the CNIL.
Eligibility & verification
Rooms are listed on Jump In exclusively for students and interns, in order to provide a safe, supportive and exclusive community for young women studying or interning abroad. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and enrolled in, or starting, studies or an internship in the city where the room is located.
Before a booking request is approved, we verify your identity document, your proof of enrolment or internship agreement, and the accuracy of the information in your profile. Additional documents may be requested where local regulations require them (for example guarantor or registration documents).
Applications may be declined where documents are missing, cannot be verified, or where eligibility or verification requirements are not met. Providing false or misleading information may lead to refusal of the request or termination of an existing contract.
Eligibility and verification steps are configured per city and reviewed against the applicable non-discrimination and housing rules of each jurisdiction.
